16th September 2010: Meeting Next Week

Well,

I've had a busy few days but the voting is inconclusive on the forum.
So, the next OFFICIAL meeting will be the usual place and usual time at the Crystal Palace on Sunday (19th September) at the usual time of 7pm. I won't be here as I mentioned as I'm working BUT
The other two options are still open, I'll be at the Old Schoolhouse on Monday and I'll also be at the The Lane Bar on the Thursday so you're all welcome to come along to both if you wish

Voting is now closed but thanks for your intrest guys

8th September: Next meeting and the Forum's Back

I realise this a couple of days late but here's a recap of Sunday's suggestions for something different for our next official meetup from 19th September 2010

I think Sunday 19th September is going to be an informal gathering anyway so come what may we'll still be able to meet up together. I am working that night so i won't be personally be there. But this is the default option.
Now, the Quiz Nights
My Suggestion for a Venue is The Old Schoolhouse. My friend runs the quiz (I create the questions so I won't be able to help) and it's all on a the TVs around the pub. It starts at 9pm on Mondays (i'm Thinking we go the 20th September) and is On Woodside Street just down from the Stand Comedy Club in the West End. It's a general quiz with various categories of rounds to suit everyone. It's round the corner from Kelvinbridge Subway Station
Linda's suggestion is in The Lane Bar, Ashton Lane and it's attatched to the Grovesnor Cinema. It also starts at 9pm but on Thursdays.(Im'm thinking the 23rd September). It's a film quiz but there is a £50 bar tab up for the winning team. It's behind Hillhead Subway Station

So please let me know by the end of this week (12th September) either by emailling me: meetings@glasgowwho.co.uk or voting on the forum. (You must be a member of the forum to vote) And I'll let you know of the outcome from Monday 13th September

Oh, the Forum is now back to fully acceptable working order :)

Cheers

29th September 2009- The Whole Shaban

Now that the dust has settled on our latest event, I think we would all agree that The Whole Shaban was a qualified success. There were certain technical issues on the day which I hope didn`t spoil anyone`s enjoyment too much but on the whole I think it went really well. And from talking to Nabil at dinner afterwards he certainly had a good day!

Thanks to everyone who turned out and supported the group and especially to those who bid so generously in the auction. We raised a total of £220 for the FSID so well done you lot and give yourselves a pat on the back!

I think it`s only right and proper that I record my thanks to Uncle Alan for once again taking the time and effort to organise such an enjoyable event for the group. Make sure and take the time to thank him and let him know how much his efforts are appreciated at our next meeting this coming Sunday. See you there!

Bryan McCormack, Events Coordinator

7th September 2009- The Randomiser @ The Glasgow Who Forum

We don't just hold meetings at the Crystal Palace, oh no. We also talk about all things "Who" at our Forum. One of the most active sections is The Randomiser where every week we pick a story at random from Doctor Who's endless adventures and discuss it. So sign up, join in and comment about why Terror of the Autons is the best Master story or The Two Doctors is the worst story of season 22 (these aren't my opinions, just examples, :) ). So get involved all month long with our Forum, here at Glasgow Who.
